About DON Weekend

“People from the D, carry it around on their shoulders. It [Detroit] is a place where you just have to boss up and make it happen.” – Big Sean

Detroiters are Defined by…

determination, resilience, and a willingness to do whatever it takes. From Henry Ford’s automobile assembly line to Berry Gordy’s iconic Motown empire, that “boss up” mentality flows through the DNA of the city.

Our Neighborhoods are Defined by…

the willingness to unite in support and in defense of one another. Detroit’s renaissance is owed to those who have held the city down through it all.

Big Sean’s Detroit’s On Now (D.O.N.) Weekend…

is a celebration of neighborhood and a tribute to the Detroiters, local business owners, activists, teachers and churches who are the backbone of the city.

Fashion Mogul Challenge

Detroit’s creative community has produced some of the most talented and influential artists in the world.

In partnership with Puma, Big Sean’s Fashion Mogul Challenge gives innovators (ages 18 and up) the tools, resources, and opportunity to design and create their own footwear.

After participating in an engaging working session, teams of fashion entrepreneurs will design and pitch a custom shoe concept to fashion industry experts and moguls. The winning team will receive $25,000 in cash award and prizes.

OCCUPY THE CORNER

Join us at Councilwoman Mary Sheffield’s annual “Occupy The Corner” event as we unite with community leaders, neighbors, and volunteers to big up the block in District 5.

There will be voter registration, employment training, expungement services, utility assistance and plenty of food, fun, and family friendly festivities.

Block Party

Join Big Sean and friends for this D.O.N. Weekend Signature Event as we bring the BLOCK PARTY back to FREC City!

What you know about a neighborhood cookout with a three-on-three basketball tournament and a live DJ on the one’s and two’s? From dance-off’s to football drills to an outdoor Cinetopia movie night, Sean Don is bringing the party to the #205.

Whether you live on the block or any other pocket of the city – we invite you to pack the yard at the Ford Resource & Engagement Center on Detroit’s Eastside. You don’t want to miss this jam-packed day of fun, family, and all-you-can-eat Coney’s, as we honor our neighborhood heroes, turn up, and celebrate our city. This is how you neighborhood.

L.I.T.E. Fest

Big Sean and the Sean Anderson Foundation are proud to partner with The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy and Ford Motor Company for the 2018 Lead Innovate Thrive Elevate Festival (L.I.T.E. Fest).

L.I.T.E. Fest 2018 is shaping up to be an event you don’t want to miss!  This huge, annual, one day festival will dominate Detroit’s Riverfront with carnival games, food, live performances, and an explosive firework viewing experience honoring a select group of ALL STAR students.

Big Sean loves kids! And we’re here for this this summer street festival celebrating the overall academic achievements of DPS students during the 2017-2018 school year.
